8 November 2023

PRESS RELEASE – Aachen, Germany – November 8, 2023

KISTERS, a global leader in environmental data solutions, announces a strategic partnership with GWS Grimm Water Solutions, an innovative provider of water management software services. This collaboration marks a significant step towards transforming water supply, drainage and wastewater management through the use of state-of-the-art AI analytics.

Established in September 2023, the partnership aims to empower operators of water treatment and wastewater plants, as well as water supply and drainage canals, with advanced AI-based analytics. By integrating GWS’s advanced AI technology with KISTERS’s environmental software platforms, the partnership aims to provide invaluable insights to industry decision-makers. These insights will provide comprehensive support for operational planning in rivers, canals and plants, thereby increasing efficiency and sustainability in these sectors.

GWS Grimm Water Solutions specialises in providing intelligent and self-learning software solutions with intuitive and explainable features that are critical for resilient water management.

Their solutions, such as DRain discharge prediction, inTank intelligent tank management or WAT anomaly detection, will enable users to predict discharge behaviour in sewers, optimally control pumps and rainwater retention basins and receive early warnings of critical operating conditions, using KISTERS’ familiar platforms such as WISKI and Datasphere.

Michael Thieman, Head of Business Development for KISTERS’ HydroMet Division, said: “Working with GWS and offering their advanced analytics through our robust environmental data software is a fusion of the latest technology and decades of data management expertise. Our customers across multiple sectors will benefit from real-time, AI-enhanced data for more informed decision making in their operations.”

“The water industry is facing major challenges and is undergoing a digital transformation. Together with KISTERS, we want to make the potential of artificial intelligence accessible to the water industry. Data-driven micro-services are the future, for which KISTERS’ data management systems offer the best prerequisites,” said Phillip Grimm, CEO of Grimm Water Solutions.

The partnership is expected to bring additional insights to the industry, enabling improved data-driven operational planning without the need for a large on-premises data analytics system. The aim is to provide an efficient, reliable and innovative solution for water management. A webinar showcasing the innovative capabilities of the joint solution is planned for 2024.
