KIPTEC - Edge Intelligence Enabler.
A blend of hardware & software built into the sensor, transforming it into a true all-in-one solution.

Easy is the new smart.
Setting up a monitoring site can feel like more hassle than progress, with multiple devices to integrate and potential failure points. And it only gets harder as your network grows.
That’s why we created KIPTEC.
KIPTEC stands for KISTERS Intelligence Platform Technology for Embedded Connectivity. In simple words, it’s the technology that transforms classic environmental sensors into Edge sensors – also known as smart sensors: autonomous devices able to handle everything on their own once powered.
While Classic KISTERS sensors already measure with precision and reliability, KIPTEC adds an extra boost — making Edge sensors possible and giving customers choice.

What exactly makes a sensor "Edge" or "smart"?
While some customers aren’t sure what they are, others confuse them with cloud platforms or complex multi-device setups. With an Edge sensor, what used to require multiple components is now handled by one sensor. Eliminating the need for external loggers, modems, or complex integrations.

Meet KIPTEC-enabled Edge Sensors.
Advanced capabilities:
- Event-based transmission — captures and sends critical changes.
- Store-and-forward — ensures no data loss during communication gaps.
- Smart power management — optimizes energy use for extended operation.
- Integrated telemetry — insert SIM, set APN, start transmitting.
Environmental sensors reimagined from the ground up.
For you this means:
- One device + power = all you need.
- Deploy in minutes, count on it for years.
- No multi-device setups, additional cabinets, wiring, or complex pairing.
- Lower learning curves, fewer headaches.
- Works in any environment.

Edge sensors are still a new concept in environmental monitoring, but we're making the transition easy.
Once you try them, you won’t want to go back.

How can KIPTEC-enabled Edge sensors help you?

KIPTEC enabled sensors support…
- Network expansion — extend coverage quickly using existing infrastructure
- Dense monitoring — fill gaps between main stations cost-effectively
- Remote sites — autonomous operation with over-the-air updates (requires KISTERS telemetry)
- Temporary or emergency deployments — rapid setup for floods, disasters, or studies
Simplified by design.
We help monitoring teams to deploy more sites affordably, reliably and quickly with fewer resources.

Keep your data private, secure, and compliant.
TLS Protected | Encrypted Data | Field Validated

The result: Lower lifetime costs.
As integrated devices, KIPTEC-enabled Edge sensors reduce infrastructure needs and logistical challenges. Their durable, high-quality, all-in-one design and consistent software help reduce purchase, installation, and maintenance costs – Extending runtimes for years to come.
FAQs.
Is KIPTEC a product I can buy separately?
No. KIPTEC isn’t an add-on. It’s embedded during manufacturing and is only available in select devices, namely KISTERS Edge sensors. It cannot be added to third-party sensors or retrofitted into devices already deployed in the field.
What makes a KIPTEC-enabled Edge sensor different from IoT or traditional setups?
Traditional monitoring requires multiple devices (sensor + logger + modem), while basic IoT offers no local backup. KISTERS Edge sensors solve both problems by combining processing, logging, communication, and power management in a single unit with local storage ensuring no data is ever lost.
What's the difference between a Classic sensor and a KIPTEC-enabled Edge sensor?
Classic sensors serve integration-heavy setups and require external loggers and modems for data handling. Edge sensors add built-in components for autonomous data handling, making them ideal for rapid deployments where minimal setup and remote transmission are priorities.
