How you can contribute:

  • Translate business requirements into innovative environmental data solutions that enhance our product offerings
  • Design, implement and optimise backend algorithms and services in Python in close collaboration with frontend developers and fellow data scientists
  • Define, implement and maintain data products in the field of meteorology and hydrology based on a detailed analysis of customer requirements
  • Integrate large-scale, high performance data management systems and design efficient ETL processes for seamless data processing
  • Automate operational tasks and streamline development processes through CI/CD pipelines and related tools

Your Profile:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Environmental Sciences, or a related field (MSc/PhD)
  • Proven professional experience in scientific data processing, preferably within the environmental sciences
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience in software engineering best practices
  • Familiarity with data management systems, ETL pipelines and modern data architecture
  • Ability to analyse complex requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable technical solutions
  • Team-oriented, proactive, and capable of working independently
  • Excellent communication skills in English, German is a plus
