WISKI DIGIT

Water Resources Management

DIGIT is a tool that provides a method for transferring all of your ‘paper-based’ data from chart recorders, whether from normal charts, drum or roll plotters to be input directly to the WISKI database.

Key Features

Specifications

The WISKI digitization allows the collection of time series or mass plots of all parameters on any paper formats. The digitization can be connected either directly to a WISKI database or operated as a stand-alone version outside the WISKI environment by means of a separate sta-tion data management. Here WISKI digitization works with most of the common digitizing tables in DIN A4 to DIN A0 formats. Over 60 different models are currently supported, espe-cially of well-known brands like Calcomp, Wacom, Summagraphics. Database platforms of MSSQL, Oracle, Sybase, Informix and Ingres are supported.

Gauge chart management

In the gauge chart management, data regarding the editor, chart number, time of collection, paper format and units used are indicated on all gauge charts. The user can make use of nu-merous templates supplied or defined by himself so that administration time is reduced to a minimum. All data are saved to the local database, making corrections at a later point in time possible. By means of these attributes, all collected gauge charts can be sorted any way you like and the display can be restricted by flexible filtering functions.
If the digitization software is directly connected to the WISKI database, the gauge charts are allocated to a target time series. The digitization software records the chart format used last for all stations. Consequently there is no need to make new entries when regularly editing the same stations. Besides the digitization of normal charts, the collection of charts from roll plot-ters and drum plotters is also now possible. This means that a gauge chart or a roll, that is oversized or written several times, can be divided into single charts and composed to one chart and equalized afterwards.

Data collection

Data collection in DIGIT can be followed on screen whilst digitization is in progress; thus dig-itization errors can be detected and corrected immediately. When collecting time series, for example water levels, inverse sections and vertical shifts as well as comments, reference points and single values can be entered on the gauge charts. For both types of gauge charts you can change between the single point mode and running mode. All important commands can be called optionally by keyboard or mouse.

Data export

The WISKI digitization allows the user to export single charts or whole chart series into the WISKI program system. Therefore, a clear separation between the data collection and the fur-ther use of measured values is achieved. When used as a stand-alone version, exporters are additionally available in the common exchange formats like UVF, ZRXP or DVWK.
