Leonardo da Vinci. Learnt form nature. The accurate study of nature always provides different perspectives for mankind: with the hang-glider, which mimicked the bat’s way of flying, Leonardo da Vinci made a further ingenious attempt to allow man to fly as early as 1487.
Leonardo was anticipating the principles behind modern hang-gliders in that his design was reduced to the pilot and two wings.
Further to this: with the visionary design of a helicopter, da Vinci inspired the helicopter's creator Igor Sikorsky, who began to realise the visionary dreams 400 years later using the technical capabilities of the 20th century. |
The formula for efficient management of hydrometeorological data: WISKI.The management of hydrometeorological data demands the highest process standards. Both recorded and derived data from various observation areas are archived together, edited in graphical and tabular form, analysed, evaluated and presented. In order that these tasks are carried out efficiently and economically, the support of a specialised software solution is required. Our water management information system WISKI offers a comprehensive spectrum of functions for integrated collection, processing, quality control, evaluation and publication of data from extensive hydrometeorological measuring networks.
The deployment area for WISKI encompasses all quantitative measured data from meteorological stations, for example precipitation, temperature, humidity or snow. Predefined functions allow the calculation of derived data such as evaporation or snow melt, as well as user-defined algorithms. Extensive configuration options offer comprehensive displays of all working process steps within the measuring network as well as in the calculation and evaluation processes. |
