Vendor switch is a minor process with major automation potential. BelVis VSM supports the tasks to be carried out by suppliers when customers switch vendors. It features a separate wizard which reads and also resends UTILMD data messages automatically. Cases which cannot be handled automatically are forwarded to the wizard for editing.
During import, the messages are analysed and checked for plausibility. This depends on the MANDATORY, RECOMMENDED and OPTIONAL fields available in the file. Any discrepancies are identified and discarded. Conversely, all the messages required from the supplier’s point of view are generated and sent. This applies both with respect to a newly recruited customer (cancellation of power supply agreement, registration for network access, start of supply, end of supply) and when a customer is lost (reply to cancellation, termination of network access). The messages are read automatically and compared against the messages already stored in the UTILMD wizard. If a matching pair is recognised then the contents are compared and, if there are no discrepancies, implemented. BelVis EDM then adapts the associated basic data accordingly. If the basic data is lead-managed in an upstream system, it is possible to prevent the amendment of the basic data in BelVis and to forward the changes to an amendment file for the upstream system instead. The basic data revisions then reach BelVis from the upstream system via the normal route of the basic data interface.
