The Workflow Management System developed by KISTERS provides you with a handy package of modern, user-friendly facilities for modelling, control and administration of your business processes.
These days, the automated control of processes is a key requirement for effective competition. Data communication can put the brakes on processes if the majority of information still has to be processed and relayed manually. Clerical staff may have difficulty keeping up with the amount of work, and costs can easily spiral out of control if a great deal of the work is highly labour-intensive.
BelVis Workflow helps business processes flow smoothly by incorporating them into data management. As such, it represents an integration-friendly complete package for EDM-related processes, assisting with all the stages involved in processing, modelling, controlling and managing tasks, sequences and responsibilities.
Simple operation – Flexible uses
BelVis Workflow offers the option to initially describe workflows and processes and assign individual agents or actions through a graphical interface. These processes may be configured as necessary by the user. The system can also communicate with BelVis, Microsoft Office or other systems. Workflows defined in this way are then processed sequentially, including any necessary process branches. Activity processing is triggered through the scheduler (BelVis Service Controller, BSC), either periodically or based on defined events, such as the receipt of a message for example.
The most important features:
Cross-platform support of business processes
Graphical editor for modelling of business processes and administrative procedures
Flexible user authentication and authorisation system

Workflow administration
Start / Stop / Pause controls
Flexible workflow definition (flowchart, dates and functions)

Workflow quality
The KISTERS Workflow Management system is based on the workflow reference model developed by the Workflow Management Coalition, an international organisation made up of users, analysts, academics and representatives from almost all the key players in the industry. Its interoperability with external applications is supported by its flexible plug-in architecture. For our customers, this means versatility and secure investment.
BelVis options for activity processing
BelVis offers two basic approaches in supporting given business processes. On one hand, a range of wizards fill each activity with content and provide support for fixed, repeating processes. These wizards are time and again shown to be necessary and proven BelVis components, and are supplied by KISTERS as a basic product feature. The BelVis Workflow module is far more flexible, offering all options to freely design arbitrary business processes and how they are to be supported during processing.
