The modular design of the PKS offers flexibility when it comes to connecting various telecontrol systems, AF ripple control sys-tems, mimic panels, transmission units etc. using standard trans-mission equipment (modems, VFT, etc.).
The PKS replaces the master stations and enables direct con-nection to the transmission units at the process end.
It independ-ently deals with telecontrol traffic and carries out the pre-processing and standardization of the data flow between the control system and the telecontrol system.
Due to the high demands placed on operating safety for control systems, the PKS – similar to control systems ControlStar – can be given a redundant configuration. The PKS system is usually implemented as independent hardware. In the case of medium-sized or smaller applications, it is possible to install the PKS with ControlStar system on a common computer.
