Smaller ocean carriers, particularly those in the bulk goods and tanker transport sectors, where a dangerous goods transport route consists of only a few different positions, can carry out their dangerous goods notifications directly via a Web interface. For the notification of correct ship data, a search can be carried out in the complete current ship database maintained by Lloyds. The appropriate ship can be selected using convenient filter functions. This method ensures that all ship specifications are included according to the guidelines of leading registration bodies.
The entry for cargo information can be adjusted to the corresponding transport type (container, tanker, bulk goods). To avoid entry errors for the sometimes highly complicated product names, details of the dangerous goods are selected from the Transec product data base. Here too, the convenient filter functions quickly lead to the desired product.
Reporting interface.
Disaster command and traffic centres along the German Bight and the Baltic Sea use the reporting interface to obtain an overview or detailed information, depending on the settings, for ship traffic in their territory. This data is used for the monitoring of current traffic but also to support relief units in case of an accident. Relevant inquiries on all available cargo details can be made in a matter of seconds and, if required, even be sent via fax to the units on location.
