Since 1992 the basic procedure has initially been employed by the occupational safety authorities in three federal states and has been adopted by more and more federal states during recent years. Since then, both the IT and technical sides of IFAS have been kept up to date. All amendments and enhancements to international and EU law relevant to occupational safety have therefore been integrated into IFAS. IFAS supports the processes of administration and decision making, as well as other activities related to labour management. The system contains the complete administration of industrial premises and site registers, operational proceedings graded by areas of legislation, the preparation of audit reports, statements and statistics, as well as a fully integrated office communications module. IFAS therefore provides a complete operational administration solution.
