Closed Distribution Networks
Site networks may be used for the supply of several industrial facilities in industrial parks, at airports or at train stations. Industry networks are most commonly used in the private sector, and usually supply energy for the enterprise that operates the network. An industry network can be transformed into a closed distribution network if independent companies are formed within business units of an industrial concern, which remain at the same location.
As a rule, energy is distributed across industry networks as electrical energy and pipe-bound energy (effective energy), and the same networks can also be used for energy generation, which may be operated by external contractors.
The technical operation of closed distribution networks requires the same equipment in terms of devices, metering technology, and network monitoring systems as do open distribution networks.
